Q. What do I need to do if I’m moving premises?
Q. Can I keep my phone number when I move?
A. It’s possible, the landline team will check to see if the number is on the same exchange as the new site. If it isn’t then there are other available options such as remote call forwarding and caller redirect.
Q. Can I use the number that was in use in the office/building I'm moving too?
A. It’s possible. You can restart stopped lines providing the previous user has not taken the number/line with them.
Q. Can I move my phone line when I'm still within my contract and will I need to pay another installation charge?
Q. What are my options if I’m unable to retain my number?
A. There are 2 network & calling features that may be available on the line with the number you would like to keep:
- remote call forward – when a customer wishes to retain a number that sits at a different exchange this feature ceases the physical line but diverts all calls to an alternative number
- caller redirect – If a customer moves to a new exchange area and cannot retain their existing number this feature will cease the physical line but will tell callers who dial the customers original number that they have a new one.
